This project is situated in a picturesque harbour on the Wild Atlantic Way in North Sligo. The site was the family’s former boat building business, consisting of a large commercial boat shed, stone sail loft and bungalow from the 1970s.

The architectural challenge was to design a compound which respects the historical significance of the site, maximises the stunning sea views, facilitates a viable new tourism business while affording privacy for the clients in a comfortable, light filled new home.

The project involved an extensive renovation of the existing bungalow and creation of a self-contained multi-purpose studio within the original boat shed. All efforts were made to maintain as much of the existing building fabric as possible.
