Reconstruction of traditional three room cottage nestled into the ground and surrounded by mature trees.

Airy, bright home within confines of original house and sheds footprint. The house was designed for an artist and her family. It combines all the light, heat and comforts of a contemporary house while maintaining the look and feel of a traditional cottage. Banks of rooflights in the main living areas flood the house with light all through the year. The original fireplace was reinstated.

The house has geo thermal heating and hot water and large expanses of glazing framing key views. Local stone has been used and the original stone from the house has been incorporated into the beautifully landscape garden.
