Roscommon House

The original 1.5 storey house sits on an acre of land, which slopes steeply towards the north. The house was cut off from stunning views to the north, east and west. One of the challenges was to create a warm comfortable extension that takes advantage of the views and light without dominating the original house. Rooflights brought light from the south into north facing rooms, underfloor heating was installed in the existing house and extension, which is fed via a geothermal heat pump and high levels of insulation were installed throughout the house.
